Mat Smith in for Mark this morning reacting with Mike to the Nuggets tough game 1 loss against the Timberwolves. Mat and plenty of our listeners are concerned that the Nuggets may not be able to get back to their game while Mike is calm knowing this struggle is to be expected. The Avs will be playing the Stars in round 2. What’re their chances of winning this series as well?

It's become evident that the Nuggets have not played a single game at their full potential in the playoffs. Coach Malone and Jamal Murray speak on that. What do the Nugs need to adjust in order to secure game 2? While Jamal seemed like a shell of himself, the rest of the hockey world praises Cale Makar for continuing to prove he's one of the greatest defensemen the league has ever seen. Finally, we hear from Coach Prime after a drama filled week up in Boulder. 

It’s been a while since we’ve had a chance to talk with Mat Smith, Mike gets his thoughts on the Bo Nix pick and whether or not he trusts Sean Payton’s decision making. Mat will be the first to admit he did not see the Avs moving past the first round. But the Avs that showed up in the playoffs are not the Avs we saw during the regular season. So, what’re their chances moving forward? And hat adjustments do the Nuggets need to make to secure a dub tonight? Our own Denversports.com’s James Merilatt joins the show to give his take on the state of the Nugs and Avs.  

Mike explains to Mat, with data, why tonight is a must win for the Nuggets. As Nuggets fans, should we really be all up in arms preparing for a breakup after just one loss? Maybe. Jamal Murray has obviously proved that he is the ultimate clutch player after round 1, but, Mike and Mark debate who they’d rather have take the last shot if it came down to it: Murray or Jokic. Yesterday Mike predicted a “mass exodus” in the NBA’s western conference after a new era has clearly been ushered in. Magic Johnson has even come out to warn the Lakers that change is coming, and they need to act. He also threw a compliment Jamal Murrays way…which is nice. Next, is it safe to say the Avs are “back”? Somehow or another, Will Smith is the topic of discussion as he’s planning his big comeback. This spawns the conversation on Jamal Murray who’s now becoming known for his clutch performances.
